Abstract
This paper presents the design of a net-based ejection mechanism for Active Debris Removal(ADR) mission. Based on the previous studies of net ejection mechanism design, a spring-based non-explosive net ejection mechanism is considered. Consequently, a net ejector that satisfies all design requirements is developed. The relevancy of design is investigated through the assessment of structural integrity based on finite element analysis. To evaluate the performance of the mechanism through ground testing, a small-scaled ejector is designed, and a prototype is fabricated using 3D printing. Finally, the demonstration for prototype of the scaled ejector is conducted.
