Abstract
Exposure to sunlight is the major cause of basal cell carcinoma (BCC). The axilla is not a sun-exposed region, and BCC affecting the axilla is rare. To our knowledge, only 4 cases of axillary BCC have been reported in Korea, We report a case of BCC in the axilla of a 67-year-old man. He presented with a 1 year history of a well-demarcated 2.0×0.5 cm pigmented plaque in his right axilla. The skin lesion was histopathologically diagnosed as BCC. He was treated by surgical excision. There was no recurrence after 1 year of follow-up.
