Abstract
Basal cell carcinoma is the most common malignancy in humans. Chronic ultraviolet light exposure is the main factor in the tumorigenesis of basal cell carcinoma and it is most frequently found on the head and neck region. Although basal cell carcinoma can also develop on ultraviolet-protected skin, its occurrence on the scrotum is extremely rare, accounting for less than 0.05% of all basal cell carcinoma cases. We report a rare case of basal cell carcinoma of the scrotum after trauma in a 83-year-old man. He had well-defined, 0.7 × 1.0 cm and 0.4 × 0.6 cm sized pigmented nodules on an atrophic scar of the left scrotal area.
