Abstract

We have observed an anomalous resistance increase in a mesoscopic Al loop near the superconducting transition temperature of the line and interpreted it by assuming a normal-current path in parallel with a normal-superconductor-normal quasi-particle tunnel barrier forming at the node area of the dangling voltage probes. The model gives quantitative fits to the dependence of the anomaly on various external parameters.
