A study on performance of heat exchanger tube for evaporator for miniaturization of exchanger for triple-absorption chiller

Abstract

A purpose of this study is to find out characteristics of heat exchanger tube in evaporator used in triple-absorption chiller. As triple-absorption chiller requires more area than double-effect due to the need of addition of generator, pump, heat exchanger and pipe, it is necessary to develop a technology that can miniaturize evaporator. Research on highly efficient small diameter heat exchanger tube is required for miniaturization of exchanger. This study conducted experiments on five types of heat exchanger tubes whose sizes were 16mm. Heat transfer coefficient, overall heat transfer coefficient and tube outside heat transfer coefficient were drawn according to experimental condition.
