Abstract
A new type of analog predistortion linearizer for controlling individual intermodulation (IM) distortion signals is discussed. A high power amplifier (HPA), using the predistortion linearizer was fabricated to operate in the Korean PCS base station transmitter band (1840 to 1870 MHz). It is found that the IM signals increases the bit error rate (BER) of the data and the adjacent channel interference, and decreases the power amplifier efficiency. The predistortion structure offers the advantage of little signal interference in small size circuits and easy implemantation.
