Abstract

We propose an analytical approach for investigating the quality of service metrics in cellular wireless networks that support narrowband voice calls and wideband data calls. Call admission is controlled by a randomized access strategy that takes into account the number of busy channels and type of call. Explicit formulas for calculating the QoS metrics are developed.
