Abstract
Conventional Ti, Ti-6Al-4V specimens with and without surface treatment with alkali- and heat-treatment were implanted in mice. For purposes of comparison, conventional SUS316L was also implanted. The implants were kept at the abdominal connective tissue for three months and then their biocompatibility was evaluated by in vitro and in vivo experiments. Results indicate that surface-treatment is very effect for the improvement of biocompatibility.
