Abstract
The use of c-signature scheme on the path dictionary to provide the filtering mechanism was discussed. Cost models were developed for retrieval, update operations, and storage overhead and c-signature scheme was implemented through them. It was found that our c-signature scheme was appropriate to the retrieval and flexible query processing. It was also found that the scheme was also applicable in handling the nested relation in extended relational database systems.
