Abstract
The use of nanostructured thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPUe) nonwoven, prepared through electrospinning process, for wound dressing was analyzed. the morphology of electrospun TPUe nonwoven was observed in scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the fiber diameter was determined using an image analyzer. A porosimeter was used to determine the pore size and Bruanuer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area. It was observed that the nonwoven consisted of nanostructured fibers with diameter ranging between 90 and 350 nm. The physical and mechanical behaviors of the nonwoven was found to depend primarily on point-bonding structure and geometrical arrangement of the fibers.
