Abstract

The collective phase synchronization in locally coupled limit-cycle oscillators was investigated. A linear analysis showed that the system was desynchronized up to d=4. The numerical investigations for d=5 and d=6 revealed the emergence of the synchronized phase via a continuous transition from the fully random desynchronized phase. It was found that the lower critical dimension for the phase synchronization in the system was dl=4.
