Abstract
The oxazolidinone- and phenicol-resistant Enterococcus faecalis strain JF3A-223 was isolated from a 21-day-old piglet. E. faecalis JF3A-223 belonging to sequence type 476 consisted of a chromosome with a length of 2,796,722 bp and four plasmids with lengths of 80,765 bp, 64,566 bp, 26,169 bp, and 3,788 bp. The G+C content of the whole genome was 37.5%. Annotation identified 2,877 protein coding sequences along with 12 rRNA and 62 tRNA genes. E. faecalis JF3A-223 was resistant to gentamicin, streptomycin, tetracycline, quinupristin-dalfopristin, chloramphenicol, and linezolid. The oxazolidinone- and phenicol-resistance genes were located on the chromosome and one of the plasmids in the strain.
