N2 - The rapid evolution of the Internet of Things (IoT) has extended the boundaries of connectivity and computing beyond terrestrial environments. This paper explores the concept of extending the IoT paradigm to the sky and space, enabling a new frontier of computing services. We review the existing services available in these domains, including connectivity/network services, computational services, and physical services. Then, we outline use-cases that demonstrate the potential of computing services in the sky and space, such as remote asset monitoring, disaster response, and autonomous aerial systems. We also present a comprehensive analysis of the state-of-the-art infrastructure supporting computing services in these environments, including satellite networks, airborne fog computing, and edge computing. This paper provides insights into the future of computing with the Internet of Flying-Things, presenting a roadmap for researchers and practitioners to explore novel applications and advance the field of IoT in the sky and space domains.
