Abstract

The release profiles of BCNU from BCNU-loaded poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) wafer containing pore forming excipient were investigated. The released amount was assayed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) at 248 nm. The multi-layer wafer system was applied to achieve easy process of manufacture through increasing of mechanical property. The multi-layered wafer consisted of 40% glycolide monomer in surface layer and 60% glycolide monomer in core layer showed almost zero-order release profiles.
