Abstract

Observations of resonance structures in the excitation function of the 7α de-excitation of 28Si nuclei in the collisions of 35 MeV/nucleon 28Si with 12C may indicate that toroidal high-spin isomers such as those predicted by recent theoretical calculations are populated.
