Abstract

The goals of Community Child Centers are to provide social safety nets for children and to assist in promoting positive school adjustment among vulnerable children in the community. Thus it is important to figure out what factors related to the use of Community Child Centers have direct relations to the school lives of children using those centers. Utilizing a multilevel model this study found that childrens' satisfaction with Community Child Centers had a positive effect on their school life satisfaction levels, and that children from single-parent households showed a more remarkable increase of school life satisfaction brought by improved satisfaction in Community Child Centers compared to children raised by both parents.
