Falling film evaporation heat transfer on MWCNT/Cu composite coating surface

Research output: Conference(x)Paperpeer-review

Abstract

Falling film heat and mass transfer involves the use of the latent heat of water. Due to the effective cooling performance of the process, it can be found in various equipment and designs such as cooling towers, evaporative coolers, absorption chillers, distillation process, and others. For these systems, the wettability of the solid surface is as an important factor. The improvement of this factor is directly related to the improvement of the evaporative cooling performance of the system. For the reduction of the structure of evaporator used in absorption chiller, experiments on the falling film evaporative heat transfer of the evaporator tubes were performed. Also, experiments concerning the heat transfer on tubes, which were coated with metal powders containing MWCNT, were perfo rmed. The result shows that, with the use of MWCNT, the falling film evaporation heat transfer were improved.
