Fast response time of liquid crystal using a nanofiber and polyimide alignment mixture

Abstract

We studied about the electro-optical properties of nematic liquid crystal samples aligned with a nonofibers (NFs)-polyimide (PI) mixtures. The sample coated with NFs-PI mixture showed a faster falling time than the pure PI sample. The falling time of the sample coated with 1 wt% NFs was about 20% faster than the pure PI sample. The elastic constant and the order parameter of the NFs-PI samples were also larger than the pure PI sample.
