Feasibility study of wastewater reuse for agriculture in Korea

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of wastewater reuse for agriculture. The study area, Jejudo in Korea, is a volcanic island of which water supply depends on groundwater. Selected weather stations which have long term data are Jeju, Seogwipo, Gosan and Seongsan station. While the annual rainfall of Seongsan and Seogwipo was 1,856 mm and 1,821 mm, that of Gosan and Jeju was 1,121 mm and 1,430 mm respectively. The probability drought analysis was performed with thirty-one years rainfall data for four gauging station. The drought day of 10 year return period was 9-55 days, especially 18-42 days from September to November in Gosan. And the Panpo region which is under construction of wastewater reuse system is presented.
