Abstract

Shape controllable synthesis of YF3:Yb3+/Er3+ upconversion nanoparticles is of significant importance for understanding the shape dependent properties as well as for exploration of potential applications. Herein, YF3:Yb/Er nanorods and nanoneedles were selectively synthesized using CaCl2.2H2O and KNO3 inorganic salts, respectively.
