Abstract
A 32-year-old woman with biopsy-proved non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the tonsil underwent Tc-99m MDP bone scintigraphy for the evaluation of skeletal metastases. Bone scintigraphy was performed 2 days after bilateral bone marrow biopsies at the posterior iliac crests. Bilateral hot spots at the biopsy sites were seen on the posterior image of the pelvis. These scintigraphic abnormalities might be mistaken for metastatic disease in patients with malignancies. The clinical history and the correlation with plain radiography are essential for proper diagnosis.
