Korean reunification and international order: Politics and economics of major powers in north east asia

This paper aims at demonstrating how Northeast Asian major powers’, the US, China, Japan and Russia, have inevitably complicated the Korean reunification attempts. The strategic location of Korean Peninsula is making the above-mentioned states have increased concern on its reunification agenda. Despite South Korea’s effort to reunite Peninsula Korea, it remains separated. The people of both South and North Korea may not see the tangible result of unification agenda and the unification of Korea progress may be slow. However, if the two countries continue to pursue unification agenda with unwavering determination and patience, the unification dream may be realized. This has continued to intensify the tension in Korean Peninsula. Further research should be done to identify the most appropriate ways that can be used to bridge the differences between the two countries, and build hope which would pave way for reconciliation and eventually reunification. Besides, more study should be done to ascertain the best means that can be used to reunite the two countries.
