Abstract
I investigated the magnetic field dependence of the transmission spectra of a LaMnO3 thin film from 1.4 eV to 2.6 eV at 4.2 K and at 300 K. The transmission at 1.4 eV was decreased almost 6 % under a 30 T magnetic field. The change was significant at about 1.4 eV and 2.6 eV, but was weak at about 2.0 eV. I found the change to be due to the absorption peak enhancement, around 2.0 eV, caused by the magnetic field. I discuss the change in the spin and the orbital magnetic moment as a possible origin for the change in the transmission spectrum.
