title = "Molecular imaging of technetium-labeled galactosyl-methylated chitosan for liver-specific diagnosis",
abstract = "99mTc-labeled galactosyl-methylated chitosan (GMC) were developed and characterized as liver-targeted in vivo molecular imaging carrier. GMC showed very high labeling efficiency of 99mTc stably for extended time (up to 3h). GMC showed enhanced hepatic contrast due to liver-specific uptake contrary to faint liver uptake of methylated chitosan (MC). Liver-targeted imaging of GMC indicated hepatic accumulation of GMC via specific interaction between galactose group of GMC and asialoglycoprotein receptors on the hepatocytes.",
