Abstract

Monodispersed spherical Ce3+-doped yttrium aluminum garnet phosphors were prepared by novel one-pot synthetic method designed. The morphology and size of phosphor particles were controlled by changing the solvent composition and the concentration of metal ion components. Single-phased phosphors with spherical shape and good dispersity could be achieved by firing the precursors at relatively low temperature. From the photoluminescence spectra, it was confirmed that the synthesized YAG:Ce3+phosphor emits typical yellow-green light peaked at around 540 nm under an excitation of 468 nm-wavelength. For white emission, on the other hand, the pc-WLED using the synthesized YAG:Ce3+phosphor and blue LED chip was fabricated and its electroluminescent property was evaluated.
