Abstract

We fabricated a photon pair source by using a type-I spontaneous parameter down conversion generated by injecting a 405 nm continuous wave laser into a β-barium borate single crystal. We designed a single-photon interferometer and a Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometer by using a lowcost, homemade, transistor transistor logic-positive emitter coupled logic (TTL-PECL) coincidence circuit. The single-photon interferometer experiment confirmed that the light source had photon characteristics. The Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometer experiment showed a dip signal when the path difference between the interfering photons was close to zero. Analysis of the interfering signal confirmed that the coherence time between the photon pair was about 187 fs.
