Abstract

The fringe-field switching (FFS) mode was known to exhibit wide-viewing angle irrespective of the types of the LC. However, the LC with +Δε reveals less transmittance than that of the cell with -Δε. This drawback can be overcome by optimized electrode width that increases the region of the horizontal field intensity.
