Abstract

The Ising model on small-world networks with the interaction decaying algebraically with exponent α was studied. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations on the networks with the probability for adding shortcuts given by P=0.5 and 1 were performed. In both cases, absence of a finite-temperature transition was observed at any nonzero value of α.
