Abstract

This chapter focuses on nanomaterial-based polymer nanocomposites for biomedical and biotechnological applications. Metals, clay, carbon, and silica-based nanocomposites have been used as biosensors, drug delivery vehicles, antimicrobial agents, etc. In recent years, considerable attention is given to polymer nanocomposites for bio-related fields such as pharmaceutical and tissue engineering. These have tunable properties.
