Abstract

This study presents experimental results on pool fire and whirl fire in order to investigate their combustion characteristics using normal-heptane and upon changing the height of the fire source to 0cm, 15cm, and 30 cm. We also measured combustion time, mass loss rate, flame temperature, flame height, and air entrainment rate from external to flame. During combustion, flame behavior was filmed using video camera. As the result of the experiment, the combustion characteristics were increased at the whirl fire more than the pool fire and combustion characteristics were increased at 0cm of flame height in the same flame.
