Abstract

A facile one-pot method for synthesizing a CdSe/CdS/ZnS core/multishell structure was reported. The continuous crystal growth without core separation was easily scaled up to produce 3 g of NC powder in one pot. One of the simplest methods to prepare CdSe/CdS core shell nanostructures in a single batch could be the consecutive injection of Se followed by S into a Cd-containing reaction medium. The energy bandgap of NCs was controlled by the thickness of the CdS shell as well as the size of the CdSe core. High-resolution TEM (HR-TEM) images and diffraction patterns for each nanocrystal were obtained by using an FEI Titan F30 instrument operating at 300 kV. The resulting NCs showed high QE up to 85 % and strong photostability.
