Abstract

TiC-Ni composite powder was fabricated through selective carburization of Ti-Ni alloys to improve the wettability between TiC and Ni during liquid phase sintering. Factors relating to Ni distribution and aggregation of TiC particles were investigated by controlling milling conditions (milling time and milling impact) and Ni content. Finally, the effects of aggregation on the sintering behavior and microstructure of the TiC-Ni composite were studied.
