Abstract

CdSe/ZnSe self-assembled quantum dots were probed by cw and time-resolved photoluminescence and Raman scattering. The exciton relaxation, excitons localized in CdSe dots, and the role of phonon-exciton coupling were investigated. Strong enhancements of the ultra-narrow emission lines were observed at an integral number of phonon quanta below excitation energy. This was for either CW or pulsed excitation which was close to resonance, with the center of inhomogeneous energy distribution of quantum dots.
