Abstract

The BRAHMS experiment has measured the ratios of charged hadrons at the RHIC top energy and observed the highest such ratios yet in nuclear collisions. As such, an increase in the ratio of antiprotons to protons and negative to positive kaons, consistent with a significant increase in reaction transparency compared to lower energies was found. The systematics of kaon and proton ratios demonstrates a strongly correlated relationship between light and strange quark chemical potentials.
