Abstract

We, propose an efficient hybrid ARQ scheme based on cross layer information for satellite communication systems, and estimate its performance. We can improve the system efficiency by using adaptive rate code transmission with cross layer information. The rate adaptation scheme improves power efficiency while keeping packet delay minimized. By considering this, we combine the hybrid ARQ with an adaptive coding scheme to improve performance. The proposed hybrid ARQ schemes with the cross layer information and efficient retransmission structures highly improve the throughput performance in the satellite communication system.
