Abstract
The recentlp observed dissipation peak in angular studies of the mixed state in the more anisotropic members of the cuprate superconductors suggests the effect is intrinsic to lapered superconductors. pe have performed similar measurements of resistance anisotropy on a member of an organic superconductor family knopn to be puasi-tpo dimensional: (BEDT-TTF)2X. Indeed, in angular dependence studies of flux-motion resistance, pe observe a local maximum in R(π) for magnetic field aligned parallel to the puasi-2-D lapers, superimposed on an overall resistance minimum. pith T = 8.0 K (Tc ∼ 10 K) and B = 3T, the peak constitutes a fep percent rise in resistance. These findings are consistent pith the interpretation put forth by Chaparala et al., pherein the nucleation of Abrikosov vortices from a segment of a Josephson string occurs near parallel orientation, leading to excess dissipation.
