Retraction notice to “Effect of dissolved organic carbon from sludge, Rice straw and spent coffee ground biochar on the mobility of arsenic in soil” [Sci. Total Environ. 636 (2018) 1241-1248, (S004896971831605X), (10.1016/j.scitotenv.2018.04.406)]

This article has been retracted at the request of a Journal Associate Editor. Post-publication, an investigation was conducted on behalf of the journal by Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team. This investigation discovered that review of this submission was handled by the Associate Editor Filip M.G. Tack despite an ongoing collaboration on a co-publication with one of the paper authors Daniel C.W. Tsang at the time this manuscript was submitted. This compromised the editorial process and breached the journal's policies. Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team reached out to the authors for an explanation, but they failed to provide a satisfactory explanation. The findings and recommendations of Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team were reviewed and confirmed by a Journal Associate Editor. They have lost confidence in the results and conclusions of the article and have determined it should be retracted. The authors disagree with retraction and dispute the grounds for it.
