Abstract

2-Dimethylaminopyridine (pyNMe2; py = 2-pyridyl) reacts with [H2Ir(OCMe2)2L2]+ (L = PPh3) to give acyclic carbene complex [H2Ir(=CHN(Me)py)L2]+ via an oxidative addition, reversible α-elimination sequence.
