Simultaneous compensation of bending-induced retardation of plastic film for the flexible displays application

Abstract

In this study, we proposed a method of eliminating the bending-induced retardation of plastic film. By coating a polymer layer with an opposite birefringence to the plastic film, the induced retardation can be simultaneously compensated. This method can be useful for the future flexible display components.
