Abstract

The optical properties of Nd1-xSrxMnO3 single crystals were systematically investigated. The crystals were found similar in their spin-orbital (SO) disordered states at room temperature. The crystals entered into various SO ordered states and their mid-infrared absorptions became different at low temperature. The variation could be explained by polaron dynamics which depended on the ordering patterns.
