Study on the mediating effects of changing logistics environment in korea and China on attitude and choice intention of shippers on the train ferry

Research output: Contribution to journalJournal articlepeer-review

Abstract

Taking note of the rapidly evolving global logistics environment in and around China, we have focused on the Korea-China Train Ferry (KCTF) as a new transportation and logistics system that can actively and efficiently cope with changes in the trade and logistics environment between Korea and China. The discussion on the construction of the KCTF, which was stalled for years, has been re-ignited in light of China's Belt and Road Initiative and Korea's Eurasia initiative. This study aims to examine whether changes in the logistics environment are important to shippers who are potential customers of the KCTF in the future. In particular, we examine whether the changing China logistics environment has a statistically significant effect on attitudes toward and intention of choosing the KCTF as a transport mode. The result of our analysis confirms a partial indirect effect, i.e. a moderating effect, on the link between attitude and choice intention.
