Abstract

We achieved RGB sub-pixeled color onto single plastic substrate using cholesteric liquid crystal. Mixture of a photo-sensitive chiral dopant and a nematic host was encapsulated and coated onto a surface. By irradiating UV with different energy into each sub-pixel zone, separate RGB sub-pixel could be obtained. The flexible panel was just made by printing and UV curing process desirable for roll to roll production.
