Abstract

Ferroelectric liquid crystal molecules are confined in a very thin cell (1.5μm) and aligned by rubbed linear chain liquid crystal polymer (LCP) layers. The electro-optical characteristics of the ferroelectric liquid crystal film are studied. We have obtained good surface stabilized modes and high contrast ratio.
