Abstract

A novel mixed ligand complex, Alq(Clq)2 (q = 8-quinolinolate, Clq = 5,7-dichloro-8-quinolinolate) was synthesized and characterized. An organic electroluminescent (EL) device ITO/TPD/Alq(Clq)2/LiF/Al (ITO = indium-tin oxide, TPD = N,N′-diphenyl-N,N′-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1,1′-biphenyl-4, 4′-diamine) was employed to investigate their EL properties. The EL device exhibits green light with maximum luminance of 780 cd/m2 at 6.7 V.
