Abstract

Diblock copolymers composed of methoxypoly(ethylene glycol) (MPEG)/polyesters were synthesized by ring opening polymerization in the presence of stannous 2-ethyl-haxanoate as a catalyst. The release profiles of dexamethasone from various implantable wafers were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) using ultraviolet (UV) detector at 254 nm. The morphological changes of the drug-loaded wafers during in vitro release test were investigated to identify the degradation behaviors of scanning electron microscope (SEM).
