Abstract

It has been widely accepted that tissue engineering offers an alternative technique to whole-organ and tissue transplantation for diseased, failed, or malfunctioning organs. To reconstruct a new tissue by tissue engineering, triad components such as (1) cells, (2) biomaterials as scaffold substrates, and (3) growth factors must be needed.
