Abstract
The Sm2Zr2O7 of pyrochlore structure was studied as a catalyst for high temperature combustion. It was prepared by the sol-gel method with and without acetylacetone as a chelating agent. The order of crystallinity and the surface area were improved when acetylacetone was used. The catalytic activity of CH4 combustion was also enhanced and superior to that of Mn-substituted hexaaluminate above 550 °C.
