Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of acrylic polymer on the physical properties of colored mortar. For this purpose, a flow test, and color evaluation and was carried out on cement mortar mixed with polymer by changing the proportion of cement and ratio of acrylic polymer. The results show that the addition of polymer influences significantly the color value efficiency in colored mortar. This is due to the reduction of overall amount of micro pore. This polymer films prevent the transport of soluble calcium towards the surface, and decreases efflorescence. And the flow of colored mortar was increased in proportion to the addition rate of the acrylic polymer but more than necessary acrylic polymer content (5% by mass of water) gives decrease flow spread diameter, when compared to normal mortar.
