The study on interrupted cutting tool life of coated carbide and CBN in ductile cast iron

Research output: Contribution to conferenceConference paperpeer-review

Abstract

Recently in industrial society, Ductile cast iron is now widely used in the automotive industrial area. This show better behavior in anti-wear resistance, low-temperature shock character and machine ability, it widely used in cylinder block, cylinder head, connection rod and brake system. Insert type cutting tool widely used in the various kind of material machining area. In this study analyze the ductile cast iron(FCD500) turning ability which used in the commercial vehicle drum brake module. Check the turning forces, surface roughness and tool wear mechanism with coated carbide and CBN tools with general lathe.
